Saubert dominated U. S. women's skiing in 1963 and 1964, winning six of a possible eight national championships, along with two Olympic medals.
She was the national downhill and giant slalom champion in 1963 and 1964 and she also won the slalom and Alpine combined in 1964. At the Winter Olympics that year, she shared the giant slalom silver medal with Christine Goitschel and she won a bronze in the slalom.
After graduating from Oregon State in 1964, Saubert retired from competition and did graduate work at Brigham Young University. She later became a teacher and a ski instructor.
