Named bowler of the decade for the 1980s, Aulby won three major tournaments during that period, the PBA National in 1985 and the BPAA U. S. Open and ABC Masters tournaments in 1989. He had previously won the PBA National in 1979, when he was named the tour's rookie of the year.
The left-handed Aulby was PBA player of the year in 1985 and 1995 and BWAA Bowler of the Year in 1985, 1989 and 1995. He was the tour's top money winner in 1985 and 1989, when he set a record with $298,237 in earnings.
Aulby ranks fourth all-time with 25 tournament victories and third with $1,772,130 in career winnings.
