NBA Career statistics

The 6-foot-11, 245-pound Bellamy averaged 20.6 points a game in three years as the starting center at the University of Indiana and was chosen by the Chicago Packers in the first round of the 1961 NBA draft. He averaged 31.6 points a game, his career high, in his first season and was named the league's rookie of the year.

The team was renamed the Zephyrs in 1962, then moved to Baltimore and became known as the Bullets for the 1963-64 season. Baltimore traded him to the New York Knicks during the 1965-66 season. He went to the Detroit Pistons in December of 1968, and the Atlanta Hawks in February of 1970. Bellamy was selected by the New Orleans Jazz in the 1974 expansion draft, but was released after playing just one game and he then announced his retirement.

In 1,043 regular season games, Bellamy scored 20,941 points, a 20.1 average, and pulled down 14,241 rebounds. Bellamy added 850 points in 46 playoff games, an 18.5 average, and had 680 rebounds.

He's one of only seven players to score more than 20,000 points and get more than 14,000 rebounds.
