Boynton, Ben Lee
Football
b. Dec. 6, 1898, Waco, TX
d. Jan. 23, 1963
If Boynton had played at a larger school, he would probably have been a first team All-American. As a quarterback at Williams College, he was named to Walter Camp's third All-American team in 1919 and 1920.
A fast, elusive runner, he tied a national collegiate record with a 110-yard punt return in 1920. During his three-year career at Williams, he had five other runs of more than 50 yards and the school won 18 games while losing only 5 and tying 1.
Boynton played professional football with the Rochester Jeffersons in 1921 and 1922 and the Buffalo Bisons in 1924.
