b. May 7, 1881, MI
d. March 16, 1943
Bunker was Army's first All-American and one of the very few players ever to be named to the All-American team at two positions. He was a tackle in 1901, a halfback in 1902. A remarkable combination of power and speed, Bunker scored two touchdowns in a 22-8 victory over Navy in his last game.
During his military career, Bunker was serving in the Philippines and met Ralph Strassburger, who had played for Navy in 1902. After they shook hands, Strassburger said, "Bunker, I hate you. Let's have a drink."
