Career Statistics
An outstanding defensive player, Carbonneau joined the NHL's Montreal Canadiens for just two games in 1980/81. After spending all of the following season in the minor leagues, he became a regular with Montreal in 1982/83.
The 5-foot-11, 184-pound Carbonneau is a center who's usually assigned to guard the opposition's best scorer. He won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the league's best defensive forward in 1988, 1989, and 1992, and he played for Stanley Cup championship teams in 1986 and 1993.
The Canadiens traded Carbonneau to the St. Louis Blues in 1994, and he has been with the Dallas Stars since the 1995-96 season.
