Drahos, Nicholas
Football
b. Dec. 6, 1918, Ford City, PA
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Drahos was a starting tackle at Cornell University for three years and was named an All-American in 1939 and 1940. Very fast and agile for his size, he also served as the team's place kicker. Cornell had a 19-3-1 record with Drahos as a starter, including an 8-0-0 mark in 1939.
Drahos played for the New York Americans of the American Football League in 1941 and was named to the all-league team. He entered military service in 1942 and never returned to football, except for a brief stint as freshman line coach at Cornell in 1947, when he was doing graduate work.
