Goheen, "Moose" (Frank)
Hockey
b. Feb. 9, 1894, White Bear Lake, MN
d. Nov. 13, 1979
One of only four U. S.-born members of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Goheen learned to play hockey on outdoor rinks in Minnesota. He joined the St. Paul, MN, Athletic Club team in 1915. After serving in World War I, he returned to the St. Paul team.
A rover--the seventh man in the era of seven-man hockey--Goheen played on the 1920 Olympic team that won a silver medal. In 1925, the league in which the team played became a minor professional league. Despite frequent offers to play in the National Hockey League, Goheen remained with St. Paul until his retirement in 1932.
