Hill, Drew
Football
b. Oct. 5, 1956, Newman, GA
The 5-foot-9, 172-pound Hill played college football at Georgia Tech and was chosen by the Los Angeles Rams in the twelfth round of the 1979 NFL draft. He was used primarily as a kick returner with the Rams, catching only 60 passes in five seasons.
Hill, who missed the entire 1983 season with a back injury, was traded to the Houston Oilers in 1985. He became a starting wide receiver in Houston's pass-oriented offense. Despite his lack of size, he was a very durable player, missing only six games in seven seasons with the Oilers.
His best year was 1991, when he caught 90 passes for 1,109 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hill became a free agent after that season and signed with the Atlanta Falcons. He retired after catching 94 passes in two seasons with Atlanta.
