Hillebrand, "Doc" (Arthur R. T.)
Football
b. 1878, Freeport, IL
d. 1941
An All-American tackle at Princeton in 1898 and 1899, Hillebrand was a particular star on defense because of his speed and agility. Princeton in those years had three heavy but not very mobile players in the center of the line, so Hillebrand had to roam all over the field to make tackles.
During those two seasons, Princeton won 23 games while tying 1 and losing 1. He captained the 1899 team. In 1903, Hillebrand returned to Princeton as head coach for three seasons, compiling a 27-4-0 record.
