Hubbard, John H.
Football
b. 1881
d. 19??
The only player from Amherst College to be named an All-American, Hubbard was a remarkably durable player. In four seasons, from 1903 through 1906, he started all 33 of his team's games at halfback and played every minute in 31 of them.
An All-American in 1905, the 185-pound Hubbard ran the 220-yard dash in 22.0 seconds. He was strong enough to run into the line and fast enough to get around the ends, and he was also an excellent kicker who never missed an extra point during his last three seasons at Amherst.
