Killinger, W. Glenn
Football
b. 1900
d. July 25, 1988
Hugo Bezdek called Killinger the greatest athlete he coached during his twelve seasons at Penn State. A quarterback, Killinger was an outstanding runner, especially on Bezdek's spinner play from the single wing. He had a 90-yard touchdown run against Georgia Tech and a 70-yard run against North Carolina State in 1921, when he was named an All-American.
Killinger played for the NFL's New York Giants in 1926. He also played and managed minor league baseball while working for a doctorate. After receiving his degree, he became football and baseball coach, athletic director and dean at West Chester State College in Pennsylvania.
