King, "Stacey" (Ronald Stacey)
Basketball
b. Jan. 29, 1967, Lawton, OK
An All-American and The Sporting News college player of the year in 1989, after averaging 26.0 points for the University of Oklahoma, King was chosen by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the NBA draft.
The 6-foot-11, 230-pound King was a center in college but became a backup power forward and center with the talent-laden Bulls and saw little playing time. His performance was generally disappointing.
Though he was on two championship teams, he didn't play many minutes. He left the Bulls after the 1993-94 season and played for three other NBA teams over the next three years. King then played two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association and became a coach in the CBA after retiring as a player.
