The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Page starred in baseball, basketball and football at the University of Chicago. Although an end, he was often used as a passer and he once completed 21 passes in a game. A left-handed pitcher, he rejected offers from professional baseball teams to remain in school. As a sharp-shooting guard, he led Chicago to the AAU national basketball championship in 1907, an undefeated season in 1908-09, and three Western Conference (Big Ten) championships. He was named the Helms Athletic Foundation player of the year for his senior season, 1909-10.
In 1911, Page became the baseball and basketball coach at Chicago and also assisted football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg. He went on to Butler University in Indiana in 1921 and coached that school to the 1924 AAU national championship. After coaching at Indiana University from 1925-26 through 1929-30, he returned to Butler for three seasons. He also coached at the College of Idaho from 1937-38 through 1938-39. His overall record was 267 wins and 149 losses.
