1981 - Holmes Beats Berbick for Heavyweight Title
Larry Holmes won a unanimous 15-round decision over Trevor Berbick in Las Vegas to win general recognition as world heavyweight champion.

1989 - Goalie Scores into Empty Net
Ron Hextall of the Philadelphia Flyers sent a clearing pass all the way into Washington's empty net to become the first goalie to score in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Flyers won, 8-5.
