1970 - Bunning Wins 100 in Each League

With a 6-5 win over the Houston Astros, Jim Bunning of the Philadelphia Phillies became the first pitcher to win 100 games in each of the two major leagues.

1991 - Rookie Alvarez Pitches No-Hitter

Wilson Alvarez of the Chicago White Sox became the first rookie to throw a no-hitter since 1983, beating the Baltimore Orioles, 7-0. It was his second major-league start.
