1919 - Assists Made Him Happy

Chicago White Sox centerfielder Happy Felsch recorded four assists in a game, a feat that's been achieved by only eight players in major-league history.

1932 - Quinn Becomes Oldest Winner

At 49, John Quinn of the Brooklyn Dodgers became the oldest pitcher ever to win a major league game. He relieved Van Lingle Mungo in the 9th inning of a 1-1 tie with the New York Giants and got the victory when the Dodgers scored the winning run in the 10th.

1933 - Foxx Hits for Cycle, Gets 9 RBI

Jimmie Foxx of the Philadelphia Athletics hit for the cycle drove in 9 runs to set a new American League record in an 11-5 win over Cleveland Indians.

1968 - Ellis Becomes Heavyweight Champ

Jimmy Ellis won a 15-round decision over former champion Floyd Patterson to claim the NBA heavyweight title. The title had been stripped from Muhammad Ali after he was convicted of draft evasion.

1988 - Record Home Winning Streak Ends

An 18-6 loss to the Detroit Tigers ended the Boston Red Sox home game winning streak at 24, a major league record.
