1972 - Davis Scores 6 TDs vs. Notre Dame
Sophomore Anthony Davis of Southern California scored six touchdowns in a 45-23 win over Notre Dame. Davis returned two kickoffs for scores on runs of 96 and 97 yards and also had touchdown runs of 1, 4, 5, and 8 yards at Los Angeles Coliseum.

1972 - Dolphins End Bears' Streak
The Chicago Bears were hoping to become the second team, after the 1972 Miami Dolphins, to go unbeaten through an entire NFL season and the playoffs. But the 1985 Miami Dolphins ended that dream by beating the Bears, 38-25.

1993 - Rockets Win 15th Straight
The Houston Rockets tied the NBA record for most consecutive victories at the start of a season by beating the New York Knicks for their 15th straight win. The lost to Atlanta the following night.
