1945 - Blanchard Is First Junior Heisman Winner
Fullback Felix "Doc" Blanchard of Army became the first junior to win the Heisman Trophy. His teammate, halfback Glenn Davis, also a junior, finished second in the voting, ahead of Bob Fenimore of Oklahoma A and M and Herman Wedemeyer of St. Mary's, California. Davis beat out Blanchard for the trophy in 1946.

1977 - Tampa Bay Loses 26th Straight
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended their own dubious NFL record by losing their 26th straight game, 10-0 to the Chicago Bears. The Bucs had lost all 14 games in their first season and followed that with 12 more losses. But they not only ended the streak the following week, they had a two-game winning streak to finish the season, beating the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Cardinals.

1987 - Kareem Double-Digit Streak Ends
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar managed only 7 points as his Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 85-83. It broke his NBA record of having scored in double digits in 787 consecutive NBA games.

1988 - Big Day for Barry Sanders
Barry Sanders of Oklahoma State had a big day on and off the field. After he was named the season's Heisman Trophy winner, he finished his college career by rushing for 332 yards in a 45-42 win over Texas Tech.
