1925 - Grange, Bears Save Giants
Red Grange and the Chicago Bears may have saved the New York Giants' NFL franchise. The Giants had lost an estimated $30,000 in their first season, but a post-season appearance by Grange and the Bears attracted a crowd of more than 70,000 and turned the loss into a profit. Grange rushed only 11 times for 53 yards, but he also caught a pass for 23 yards, completed two of three passes, and scored a touchdown on a 35-yard interception return in Chicago's 19-7 win.
