1984 - Sukova Ends Martina's Streak

Martina Navratilova's record 74-match winning streak ended with a loss to Helena Sukova in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. The streak had begun on January 15, 1974.

1987 - Montana Sets Consecutive Completion Record

Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49ers completed his first 17 passes in a 23-12 win over the Green Bay Packers. He had completed his last 5 passes the previous week. His 22 consecutive completions was a new NFL record, breaking Ken Anderson's mark of 20, set in 1983.
