Historic Events

1971 - Dolphins Win Longest Game

The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs gave fans a Christmas present: the longest game in pro football history. Their AFC semifinal game was tied 24-24 at the end of regulation and the first overtime period. In the second overtime, Miami's Gary Yepremian hit a 37-yard field goal to win it, 27-24. The game lasted 82 minutes and 40 seconds.
