"Jumping Joe" Fulks of the Philadelphia Warriors scored 63 points against the Indianapolis Jets, a record for the NBA's pre-shot-clock days.

Jim Beatty ran a 3:58.9 in a Los Angeles meet to become the first American to run the mile indoors in less than four minutes.

1990 - Douglas KOs Tyson for Title

Buster Douglas scored one of the biggest upsets in boxing history, knocking out Mike Tyson at 1:23 of the 10th round to win the heavyweight championship at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.
