1890 - 100 Rounds for Nothing

Danny Needham and Patsy Kerrigan fought 100 rounds under the Marquis of Queensberry Rules in San Francisco. The fight was stopped and declared a draw after 6 hours and 39 minutes.

1977 - Mikita Notches 500th Career Goal

In a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Stan Mikita of the Chicago Black Hawks scored the 500th goal of his NHL career.

1992 - Tiger Plays With the Big Boys

Sixteen-year-old amateur golfer Tiger Woods played in the Los Angeles Open. He was the youngest golfer to be invited to play a PGA tour event since Jack Nicklaus in 1957.
