1972 - Henry Aaron Is First $200,000 Player
Henry Aaron signed a three-year, $600,000 contract with the Atlanta Braves, becoming the first baseball player to be paid $200,000 a year.

1980 - Howe Scores 800th Career Goal
Gordie Howe of the Detroit Red Wings became the first player in NHL history to score 800 career goals. Since then, only Wayne Gretzky has exceeded that mark.
