1931 - MSG Hosts First Hoops Tripleheader
College basketball started on its way to national prominence with a triple-header at Madison Square Garden, even though the six teams combined for only 99 points. Columbia beat Fordham, 26-18; Manhattan College beat NYU, 16-14; and St. John's beat CCNY, 17-8.

1974 - UCLA's 88-Game Streak Ends
Notre Dame snapped UCLA's record 88-game winning streak, 71-70, on Dwight Clay's jump shot with 29 seconds left in the game. UCLA's last loss before the streak began had also come against Notre Dame three years before.

1985 - Wilkens Reaches Double-Thousand Mark
Lenny Wilkens became the first person ever to play and coach in 1,000 NBA games as his Seattle SuperSonics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, 106-105.
