1979 - Bradshaw Is Super Bowl XIII MVP
Terry Bradshaw threw four touchdown passes and was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XIII as his Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Dallas Cowboys, 35-31, becoming the first team to win three Super Bowls.

1985 - Potvin Catches Up to Orr
Denis Potvin of the New York Islanders scored his 270th career goal to tie Bobby Orr's record for a defenseman. Potvin eventually extended the record to 310, which still stands.

1990 - McEnroe Tossed for Temper Tantrum
Leading in his Australian Open match against Mike Pernfors, John McEnroe threw a temper tantrum and cursed an official, becoming the first player ever expelled from the tournament.

1995 - Stockton Becomes NBA All-Time Assist Man
John Stockton's bounce pass to set up a basket by Utah Jazz teammate Karl Malone made Stockton the NBA's all-time career leader in assists, with 9,922.
