1919 - Marquard Wins 19th Straight
Rube Marquand of the New York Giants beat the Brooklyn Dodgers, 2-1, for his 19th consecutive victory of the season, a major league record. The streak was ended in his next start, on July 8.

1966 - Cloninger Hits Two Grand Slams
Tony Cloninger of the Atlanta Braves became the first National Leaguer and the only pitcher to hit two grand slam home runs in one game. Cloninger also collected a single, 9 RBI, and the victory, a 17-3 win over the San Francisco Giants.
