1937 - Line Drive Breaks Dizzy's Toe
In major league's baseball's All-Star Game at Griffith Stadium, Earl Averill hit a line drive that broke a toe on pitcher Dizzy Dean's left foot. The injury ultimately led to Dean's early retirement.

1985 - Unseeded Becker Wins Wimbledon
Boris Becker beat Kevin Curren, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, in the Wimbledon men's finals. At 17, Becker was the youngest man to win the championship. He was also the first unseeded player and the first German player ever to win.
