1909 - Tigers, Senators Scoreless for 18 Innings

The Detroit Tigers and Washington Senators played the longest scoreless tie in major league history. After 18 innings, the game was called because of darkness without a run being scored.

1970 - Pirates Move to Three Rivers

After 61 seasons at Forbes Field, the Pittsburgh Pirates moved into brand-new Three Rivers Stadium. The Cincinnati Reds spoiled the party, though, by taking a 3-2 win.

1988 - Flo-Jo Sets World Record in 100-Meter

At the U. S. Olympic Trials in Indianapolis, Florence Griffith-Joyner ran the 100 meters in 10.49 seconds, a new world record.
