1991 - Martinez Pitches Perfect Game
Dennis Martinez of the Montreal Expos threw the 13th perfect game in major league history, beating the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-0.

1993 - Griffey Homers in Eighth Straight Game
Seattle outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. tied the major league record by hitting a home run in his eighth consecutive game. Dale Long of Pittsburgh set the record in 1956 and Don Mattingly of the Yankees had tied it in 1987.

1968 - Lombardi Resigns as Packer Coach
Vince Lombardi announced his resignation as coach of Green Bay Packers after nine seasons, in which the Packers won five NFL championships and the first two Super Bowls. Lombardi remained as general manager for a year before going to the Washington Redskins in 1969.

1994 - Rogers Turns Tables with Perfecto
Kenny Rogers became the first American League lefty to pitch a perfect game as the Texas Rangers beat the California Angels, 4-0. It came exactly three years after the last previous perfect game and 10 years to the day after Mike Witt of California had pitched a perfect game against the Rangers.
