1952 - Mosienko Turns 21-second Hat Trick

Bill Mosienko of the Chicago Black Hawks scored the fastest hat trick in NHL history. His 3 goals in 21 seconds of the third period helped Chicago overcome a 6-2 deficit to win, 7-6.

1957 - North Carolina Wins in Three Overtimes

Joe Quigg hit two free throws with six seconds left in the third overtime to give North Carolina a 54-53 win over Kansas in the longest game in the history of the NCAA tournament.

1991 - London Wins WLAF's First Game

The London Monarchs beat the Frankfurt Galaxy, 24-11, in the World League of American Football's inaugural game. Despite some early problems, the WLAF is still operating, but it's now known as NFL Europe.

1994 - Gretzky Scores Record 802nd Goal

Wayne Gretzky scored against Kirk McLean of the Vancouver Canucks to record his 802nd NHL goal, breaking Gordie Howe's career record.
