1987 - Record Crowd Watches Indiana Win NCAA
The NCAA men's basketball final at the Superdome in New Orleans drew a record crowd of 64,959, who saw Indiana's exciting 74-73 win over Syracuse.

1993 - Senators Lose 37th Straight on Road
The Ottawa Senators lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins, 6-4, for their 37th consecutive defeat on the road. That tied the NHL record, set in 1975. But they tied their next road game to end the dismal streak.

1997 - Evans Wins 37th National Championship
Janet Evans won the 800-meter freestyle event at the U. S. championships. It was her 37th national title, surpassing Johnny Weissmuller and moving her into second place, behind Tracy Caulkins.
