1914 - No-Hitter Is to No Avail
Jim Scott of the Chicago White Sox threw a 9-inning no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians, but gave up 2 hits in the 10th and lost the game, 1-0.

1996 - Magic Retires for Second Time
After playing in 32 games during a comeback attempt, Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers announced his retirement again. Johnson had originally retired in 1991, when he learned he was HIV-positive.
