1928 - 13 Future Hall of Famers Take the Field
A record 13 future Baseball Hall of Famers played in the New York Yankees' 9-7 victory over the Philadelphia Athletics. Both managers, Miller Huggins and Connie Mack, are also in the Hall of Fame.

1935 - Reds Win Majors' First Night Game
In the major leagues' first night game, the Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 2-1, at Crosley Field in Cincinnati. The first scheduled game under the lights had been rained out the night before.

1936 - Lazzeri Hits 2 Slams in 25-2 Win
Ben Chapman set a major-league record by reaching base seven times and Tony Lazzeri had two grand slam home runs and 11 RBI in the Yankees' 25-2 win over the Athletics.

1981 - Unser Wins, Loses, and Wins Again
Bobby Unser apparently won the Indianapolis 500 but was penalized one lap for passing under a caution flag and Mario Andretti was declared the winner. However, Unser and car owner Roger Penske appealed to the U. S. Auto Club and Unser was reinstated as the champion four months later.
