1930 - Joe Sewell Strikes Out Twice!
Cleveland shortstop Joe Sewell struck out twice against
Pat Carraway of the Chicago White Sox. That may not sound noteworthy, but Sewell struck out only three times in 353 at-bats that season and only 114 times in 7,132 career at-bats.

1959 - Haddix Is Perfect for 12 Innings
Pittsburgh Pirate southpaw Harvey Haddix pitched the longest perfect game in history, 12 innings against the Milwaukee Braves, only to lose in the 13th. Lew Burdette, who went all the way and scattered 12 hits, got the 1-0 victory.
