1951 - Mays' First Hit Is a Homer
After going hitless in his first 26 major league at-bats, Willie Mays asked New York Giant manager Leo Durocher to send him back to the minors. But Durocher stuck with him and Mays got his first hit, a home run off future Hall of Famer Warren Spahn.
