1982 - Trombonist Can't Prevent Winning TD

Holding a 20-19 lead with only four seconds remaining, Stanford used a squib kickoff to prevent a long return by California. Kevin Moen picked the ball up and after several laterals, he got it back at the Stanford 25-yard line. Meanwhile, the Stanford band had come marching onto the field, thinking the game was over. Moen knocked over trombone player Gary Tyrell as he went into the end zone for the TD that gave Cal a 25-20 win.
