1984 - Doug Hails Mary
Six seconds left and 48 yards to go for Boston College, trailing Miami 45-41. Quarterback Doug Flutie took the snap and scrambled back to his own 37-yard line while four receivers went into the end zone. Then he let fly with the most famous "Hail Mary" pass in football history, a 65-yard throw that was caught by Gerard Phelan one yard into the end zone to give BC a 47-45 win.

1975 - Tarkenton Sets Completion Mark
Quarterback Fran Tarkenton of the Minnesota Vikings threw a short pass to running back Ed Marinaro for the 2,831st completion of his career, breaking Johnny Unitas's NFL career record. The toss came in a 28-13 win over the San Diego Chargers at Minnesota. Tarkenton finished his Hall of Fame career with 3,686 completions, 6,467 attempts, 47,003 yards, and 342 touchdowns, all records at the time and all broken by Dan Marino.

1991 - Sands Sets NCAA Rushing Records
Tony Sands, tailback for the University of Kansas, set two NCAA records by rushing 58 times for 396 yards. Sands scored 4 touchdowns in the 53-29 win over Missouri.
