1975 - Fisk Homer Wins Game 6
Leading off the bottom of the 12th inning in Game 6 of the World Series, Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk hit a long fly down the leftfield line and then watched from home plate, waving his hands to keep the ball fair through telekinesis. It worked. The ball hit the flag ball to give the Red Sox a 7-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Bernie Carbo's pinch-hit, three-run homer in the eighth had tied the game for Boston. However, the Reds won Game 7 and the Series.

1989 - Houston Totals 1,021 Yards
The University of Houston Cougars became the first major college team to gain more than 1,000 yards in a game, while routing Southern Methodist, 95-21. Houston totalled 1,021 yards against an SMU team made up entirely of freshmen because the school was resuming football after a two-year NCAA ban.
