1979 - Martin Fight Leads to Firing
New York Yankee manager Billy Martin was involved in a bar-room fight with marshmallow salesman Joseph Cooper in Bloomington, Minnesota. Martin was fired five days later.

1992 - It's a World Series After All
A team from outside the United States won the World Series for the first time when the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Atlanta Braves, 4-3, in the sixth game. Toronto catcher Pat Borders, who hit .450 for the series, was named the MVP.
