1943 - Baugh Throws 6 Touchdown Passes
Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins threw a record six touchdown passes in a 48-10 over the Brooklyn Dodgers. It was a short-lived record; Sid Luckman of the Bears threw for seven touchdowns just two weeks later.

1950 - Lloyd Is NBA's First Black Player
Earl Lloyd of the Washington Capitols became the NBA's first black player, in a 78-70 loss to Rochester. Two other blacks made their debuts the following day, Sweetwater Clifton with the New York Knicks and Chuck Cooper with the Boston Celtics. Cooper was the first black player drafted, in the second round out of Duquesne.
