The Butkus Award

History

The Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando, Florida, has presented the Butkus Award since 1985 to the nation's outstanding college linebacker.

The award is named for Dick Butkus, a two-time All-American center and linebacker at the University of Illinois and six-time All-Pro linebacker with the Chicago Bears.
