History
From 1916 through 1920, the Cincinnati Celts were a semi-pro team made up primarily of players from Miami of Ohio. In 1921, the team entered the American Professional Football Association.
The Celts went 1-2 in their first three league games in October, all on the road, and then spent more than a month playing non-league games. On November 27, they were overwhelmed, 48-0, by the Evansville Crimson Giants in their final league game, again on the road.
Because of the lack of success in the APFA and the lack of fans at their home games against lesser teams, the Celts folded after that season.
