Flo Hyman Award

History

Named for Flo Hyman, the first American woman to be selected to the All-World Cup volleyball team, this award is presented annually by the Women's Sports Foundation.

Established in 1987, the year after Hyman's death at the age of 31, the award goes to the woman athlete who, in the course of her career, has exemplified Hyman's "dignity, spirit and commitment to excellence."
