History
This was a Los Angeles franchise in name only. Pieced together to help the NFL combat Red Grange's American Football League, the team was actually based in Chicago and played all of its games on the road.
Led by Brick Muller, a former All-American end at the University of California who also served as co-coach, the Buccaneers had a respectable 6-3-1 record to finish in a tie with the New York Giants for sixth place.
The record was a bit misleading, though, since they played most of their games against losing teams. When the AFL folded after the 1926 season, the Buccaneers were no longer needed and the franchise was dissolved.
