History
The Lott Trophy was established by the Pacific Club in 2004 as an award for the outstanding collegiate defensive player of the year. The criteria for the selection are based on the acronym IMPACT: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community, and Tenacity.
The trophy is named for Ronnie Lott, the defensive back from the University of Southern California who is a member of the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
