NCAA Men's Division III Hockey
HistoryThe first NCAA Division III men's hockey tournament was held in 1984 at Rochester Institute. There were eight teams, who played two-game, total-goal series in the first round to determine the semi-finalists, with a single-elimination tournament in the two final rounds. That format has been followed ever since, except in the 1988-90 period, when the two-game, total-goal format was also used in the semi-final and final rounds. |
