Conn Smythe Trophy
HistoryMaple Leaf Gardens, Ltd., presented this trophy to the NHL in 1964 in memory of Conn Smythe, former coach, general manager, and owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is awarded to "the most valuable player for his team in the playoffs," as determined by a poll of members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association. |
