Croquet was an Olympic sport at Paris in 1900, but all of the competitors were French. An American version, roque, may have been on the Olympic program in 1904 at St. Louis. Similarly, all the competitors were from the United States, and that event has been dismissed by many historians as a national championship disguised as an Olympic event.
